“shell-ebrities” hmmmm

April 21st, 2009

So it’s a Tuesday.  It’s just wedged in there in between Monday (which is awful), and Wednesday (which is better because it means the week is halfway over).  Never quite sure what to do with my Tuesdays, so I figured I’d do a little blogging! So if you’ve ever tuned into my show, you know that I love the Zac Brown Band! I’m really excited to see them on Jay Leno on the 29th ! Definitely going to have to TiVo that! Did you know that Brooks & Dunn are M&Ms now? Haha.  They are two of the new “shell-ebrities”! ok, a little creepy if you ask me, but a little cute, too …  There are also other “shell-ebrities” like Magic Johnson, Enrique Iglesias and Kyle Busch.  If you wanna become an M&M, click here lol.  I’m gonna make one of myself when I’m done writing this! Gonna run, but as always, keep listening to Rebel 95.5!!

Darius Rucker Concert

March 20th, 2009

Hey there! Sorry it’s been soooooo long since I wrote anything on my blog!  So you know how Rebel had that big contest to win Darius Rucker tickets? We gave away 5 pairs of tickets for the show last night, and Chris (he works here in sales) was able to go, too.  He even got to meet Darius! Here are some pics from the concert! He said he had a lot of fun, and that Darius is really cool J

Country Update!

February 18th, 2009

Did you know that Toby Keith  met his future wife, Tricia, at a dance hall in 1981?  Or that he wrote his first hit, “Should’ve been a Cowboy,” in a motel bathroom in Dodge City, Kansas?  Or how about that after spending his life as a Democrat, he reregistered as an Independent last year after getting angry at people criticizing Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin?  Find out more when he reveals 30 little known facts about himself in the upcoming issue of Country Weekly, coming out Monday.

Every notice how many songs focus on drinking? From Brad Paisley’s “Alcohol” to Kenny Chesney’s “Keg In The Closet,” lots of country music has found influence at the bottom of a bottle. Both of these have been big hits, but Blake Shelton says, “I wrote a song one time called ‘You Picked Your Nose With the Finger I’m Wrapped Around,’ and I thought it was brilliant, ‘cause I had been drinking.  And the next day I realized it wouldn’t be a hit.”   hmmmm, I think I’d probably listen to that one … :)

Maybelline

February 16th, 2009

Ok this has absolutely nothing to do with country music, but had to post a pic of my puppy, Maybelline!  She just recently got her hair cut, so this is what she used to look like …

Rascal Flatts/Jessica Simpson at the JPJ

February 3rd, 2009

I wanted to post some pics from the Rascal Flatts concert! We had so much fun at the show, and I thought everyone did a really good job! I don’t get the whole thing about Jessica Simpson’s weight, I thought she looked really great … ??

It was cute though, she messed up and started singing at the wrong time and had to start over (at least it was obvious she wasn’t lip synching!?) We had amazing seats, but my camera is so crummy, the closest zoom made it look like we were miles away.  And apparently her backup singer was Ashlee Simpson (still not sure if that’s true).  You can KIND OF see her in this pic here (the one in the big white sweater….) cimg1611

Oh, and my brand new crush is this guy here … ummm, soooo adorable!!! Love you Joe Don!

Hey everyone!

January 29th, 2009

Thanks for taking the time to check out my very first blogging experience! I’ve never done this whole blog thing before, but I’m pretty excited about keeping all you cool Rebel 95.5 listeners up to date with me and what’s going on with the station! So tonight’s the night! Rascal Flatts at the JPJ!! I’m so excited, I’ve never seen them in concert before, but I hear they put on a really good show! I’m also curious to see how Jessica Simpson’s gonna do … I’ve only seen her perform once - she opened at the People’s Choice Awards a few years ago (that was before she switched over to Country though!) Well I’ve got a lot of stuff to take care of here at work before I leave for the concert, so I’m gonna run! I’ll let you know about the concert tomorrow! :)
